HydroMassage® and the spa industry - FAQs

  • How are Hydro massage systems used in Spas?

People go to a spa to relax and be pampered, which is why spas offer health spa equipment facials, body treatments, facials, hair and nail services, and most importantly…hydro massage spas.

Massage should be a critical part of any spa products, and hydro massage is a great solution because customers get the combined benefits of water, heat, and massage therapies during their Hydro massage spa treatment.

HydroMassage is rarely used to replace traditional “hands-on” massage because customers do value having access to both forms of health spa equipment and therapy. However you will notice that some customers who aren’t interested in traditional massage will, in fact, use the Hydro massage spa for its jet massage.
  • How does it benefit your customers?

    • Alternative to Hands-On Massage: Traditional massage is very popular; however it does have its drawbacks. With Hydro massage hydro therapy spas, your customers can relax comfortably in private without having to get undressed or be touched by a stranger.
    • Convenience: Another advantage of Hydro massage is that your customers can get a fantastic massage in less than 15 minutes (compared to a 30 or 60 minute traditional massage).

  • How do you make money with HydroMassage?

Two ways. You can either 1) Charge per massage session, or 2) Make Hydro massage spa products part of a daily or monthly membership package.

    1. Charging per session
Spa owners who charge per session often charge somewhere between $0.50 - $1.00 per minute to use the hydro massage. So, you could expect to charge between $5 and $10 for a 10 minute massage.

In addition, you can also sell massages as gift certificates during holiday seasons (usually $20 for a 20 minute massage). People are always looking for unique gift ideas, and you get the benefit of both the increased revenue and a new potential customer walking into your facility. Besides, what other really unique gift can you buy for $20?

    2. Spa Package Up-charge
Most commonly, spa owners are selling Hydro massage as an up-charge to a customer’s current spa package. Most are charging an extra $5-$20 per package for a customer to have access to the Hydro massage spa bed.
  • How do you sell HydroMassage?

When you have a prospective customer walk in the door, you give them a tour of your facility. At the end of the tour, give them a free 5 minute teaser on the Hydro massage. When they’re done, tell them that they can have unlimited use of the bed for just $5 or $10 extra to their package. The decision for them is a no-brainer… and…with the Touchscreen, you can give them their own personal code to turn on the bed (this ensures that only the members who pay for the bed get to use it).
